Dear Pals, I’ve finally worked out to post on YouTube. How easy was that! Here is my latest favourite story. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog

Sue at Phuklub (and re the sweater – yes my mother did knit that).

Dear People, I am posting a story of mine that I quite like. This is somewhat autobiographical. In real life the protagonist was a lot older (and probably should have known better) but the idea is the same. What do you do when you want to catch a celebrity’s eye?

One hint – white pants work best. Take it from me.

Here it is — Backstage Betty — Enjoy.

The Real Backstage Betty

A real life confidential at Phuklub. Remember I moved to Bondi first.

This video seems to disappear so I’ve updated the link. Good luck!

I still love you Paul! (All of the people laughing in this video were on drugs. LOL)

Something to be proud of

I was really proud of getting a spot in the Sydney Fringe Festival as part of the Phuklub troup last year; but as we say “no bragging”.

My memory is not going (how did I post the last picture?) Here is a fabulous photo that my mate Jeremy Belinfante took of me at Phuklub. I don’t look like a glamour puss, but I do look like a comedian. Good on ya Jeremy.

The Octopus Story

This story is from a longer semi-published work and goes by the name of “Melanie learns to sing”, you’ll find out why when you check it out. This video taken at Phuklub is the first outing for this bit of whimsy and I think it went pretty well. Ben Elwood liked it so much he told me to do it at the Friend in Hand, which I did on their birthday show, last year. It went off to riotous applause (thanks for the tip Ben).

What is Phuklub?

When we did the Sydney Fringe Festival last year we made a promo video, which I thought was quite good (good job Jeremy Belinfante for your camera work and editing – you’re a genius!)

Jeremy shot parts of the video at the Roxbury Hotel, it was late in the evening, after the show, and I must admit the balance of my mind was disturbed. I got the mobile phone from our friend Magenta and she said “I’ll ring you up and it’ll look more real” – I was only going to use it as a prop. To cut a long story short I tried to turn it off (not having a mobile myself) and speed dialed Magenta’s mum. Picture it a strange woman rings you up out of the blue at 11 pm at night and talks suggestively, it would be kind of weird. Magenta said she was OK with it.

Anyway, what is Phuklub? I thought it was a whole lot like phone sex. Check it out.

On Sunday evenings you might find me at the Roxbury Hotel on St John’s Road Glebe. Me and some of my friends do a little off-the-wall comedy night called Phuklub.

This was started by our pal Nick Sun some years ago now and it has gone from strength to strength. It’s not your usual comedy night I would hasten to tell you (yes, there is a lot of “adult” content in it; but also a lot of truth).

Here is one of my offerings. I was very impressed that I went for 12 minutes instead of the usual five (isn’t comedy a lot like sex?).

Getting the stuff out there

The internet is a big place.

An author, especially with a bland name like mine can get totally lost in the crowd. Type in “Sue Thomas” on Google and you get a woman with a dog. Go on try it!

So how do you handle this?

I met a woman in a pub (you know the story) and she was handing out little slips of paper to people with the address of her web page. What a good idea I thought. I should try that, later on tonight.

And of course you can use Tumbler and Facebook.
