Archive for March, 2017

What do you do when you front up at a Phuklub show and you have a script full of questions for one of the show and tell performers (like I did on March 19) and the guy  in question doesn’t show?

You get up on stage and do it anyway. Brent did a stint doing escort work in his youth so he lent the occasion an air of authenticity and great storytelling skills.

So we improvised the interview. Brent Thorpe was hilarious and I had a lot of fun.

This is what Jeremy Belin said (thanks again for the wonderful photos buddy!):

“You had to be there. This was one of my favourite acts in Phuklub history… it was interesting, honest, hilarious and totally off the cuff and unrehearsed.”

Finger Bang is released!!!

Posted: March 13, 2017 in acting, publishing, videos

Acting in Matt Fung’s short Finger Bang is only my second go at acting in a film. It was a lot of fun to shoot it with a group of talented young people (Geraldine, Freddie, Jonathan and James). It was like being on the shoot of “A Hard Day’s Night” (with the Beatles) but with less music and not in black and white.  Anyway, here is the finished product.  I think it is very funny, I didn’t write it but I got one of the starring roles. Good on me. Thank God the water boarding sound affect was put on “in post”.

Here is the final product: Womb Cop,  the movie that I made with director Corey Farrell. Its very funny and although I only had a small part it was a lot of fun. Look out for the stars: Ruven Govender, Sam Kissajukian and Madeleine Culp. They are great!

[Monday 27-3-17] It gets better: director Corey Farrell says Womb Cop is an official selection of the Die Laughing Film Festival in Hollywood. Talk about in with the in crowd!

Phuklub at the Chippendale Hotel Sunday 26-2-17. I did my ‘why I like porn set’. It got laughs. Lots of improvising with the help of Ben Elwood. Thanks to Jeremy Belin for the photos.

What they said:

Sweeneys Comedy was packed out again last night! Thank you to everyone that came to perform, support their friends, or just watch the sweet poetry of open mic comedy!

This week we have Bonnie Tangey as our host! She crushed her Christmas show appearance as host and has only been gigging more since then, so expect some high quality jokes!”

I did my ‘why I like porn’ set — it was okay — I improvised some — I was happy.

I’ve been going to Crown Comedy since it was going on at the Crown Hotel in Parramatta. This year we are at the Louis Hotel at Lewisham which is a very nice hotel and I was delighted to appear with my good friend Mr Peter Meisel. It was a lovely night. How clever of Justin Jones to offer everyone free head shots. And what a lovely audience. I did some stuff I’m working on about how much I like porn and had a very good time at the Second Crown Birthday Extravaganza.

I try to get up at least once or twice a week, so Molotov is a good room to make for on a Wednesday evening. Here I am on two dynamite line-ups. See you there Wednesday night.

Thanks to Justin Jones for this photo taken 1-3-17

After a few weeks travelling around New South Wales, attending birthday parties and generally gigging around I returned to my old stomping ground – The Friend in Hand. Liam tapped me on the shoulder and said “do you want a spot Sue?” and I said “I could do that”.

Like don’t sound so enthusiastic. Inside my head I was panicking. I was thinking “what can I do?” The answer is one of my favourite stories “Silent Witness” which went down quite well.

One audience member said “I missed the first 2 minutes because I was laughing so hard I cried” and another man said “I had to go and get a drink”. I said “that’s why we’re here” – to get people to drink.

Here is the video and the running sheet friend-02-03-17. I hope you like it.
